Play Dirty: Power to the Players

I was in the kitchen, making dinner, listening to the Game Geeks, when I heard someone ask this question...

"How do I make sure my players don't get too powerful too fast?"

I heard that and I just had to write a Play Dirty episode. And instead of writing it, I just talked it.

I've only started GMing in the past few years, switching off with my buddy in our group, but what you describe is basically what I've been doing from the get-go. I basically just acted how I would want a GM to act for me, being the kind of person who spends a lot of time on character background in order to give the GM hints about things I'd like to have happen.

Very well done! Much more positive than most PDs contentwise (obviously) and the presentation is much more direct.

Play Dirty: Power to the Players
Excellent point about the desire to prevent characters getting powerful quickly being an adversarial relationship between player and GM. Anyone running a game with THAT kind of attitude is just showing how uncreative they are!

So...What did you make for dinner?
